Dr. James Garvin
Científico Principal de la NASA

Junto a la NASA por más de 20 años, el Dr. James Garvin se desempeña actualmente como científico jefe de la agencia. Previamente dirigió a los científicos de la NASA en la exploración de Marte. Garvin ha estado enamorado del mundo natural desde su infancia y sus intereses formativos se tradujeron en la fascinación, con una frontera final –el espacio.

Con un doctorado en Ciencias Planetarias Geológicas de la Universidad de Brown, Garvin ha hecho contribuciones significativas a los esfuerzos de exploración robótica en Marte, incluyendo los lanzamientos del Mars Global Surveyor, el Mars Odyssey y los gemelos Mars Exploration Rovers, Spirit y Opportunity.

Su ferviente liderazgo ha sido reconocido y galardonado por la NASA y por el mundo académico.
