Pugilistas famosos y exponentes de las artes marciales

Jet Li

Jet Li, estrella de cine internacional oriundo de China y Hong Kong, fue descubierto a los ocho años de edad por su agilidad superior, y enviado a la Beijing's Amateur Sports School para su entrenamiento formal en el wu shu. Ganó muchos campeonatos nacionales en esta disciplina y se convirtió durante su adolescencia en entrenador nacional. Entonces fue invitado a unirse al equipo de wu shu profesional de Pekín, y viajó haciendo presentaciones en más de 40 países alrededor del mundo, incluyendo la de la Casa Blanca, para el Presidente Richard Nixon y Henry Kissinger.

Muy respetado por sus habilidades atléticas, su primera película Shaolin Temple (1982) lo lanzó al super estrellato. Protagonizó muchas películas, entre las que se destacan Once Upon A Time In China (1991) y Fong Sai Yuk (1993).

Su popularidad lo llevó a interpretar papeles protagónicos en Hollywood, debutando como villano en la película Lethal Weapon 4 (1998). Su primer papel protagónico en Hollywood fue en Romeo Must Die (2000). Jet Li realiza la mayoría de sus proezas acrobáticas.
